alternate fill? anyone ever tried to fill them with some sealant or something? im probably not going to fill it with RTV, sounds expensive, but could maybe fill it with something rather than $75 a side or whatever it is?

noise recorded i have a similar noise that the people above have described... 2006 v6 224k. the alternator is pretty new, did PS pump, pulleys/tensioner are new... maybe it is exhaust, i will look again. you can hear it change a little with wheel input, or at the end when i put it in park...

i replaced mine a couple months back - make sure you get the chain driven one instead of the cable one.... i got it from joe joe on FB (who i assume gets it from a dealership)

i had to push DOWN the big lever, and then UP the smaller lever to get mine to manually release

So my hatch popped open the other day. i closed it, then got home and it wouldn't open again, no noise or nothing. i reset the ECU-B fuse, which got it to open, but then the same again (close but not open). The main difference i noticed was that the cycle took longer.... after getting it...

thanks for getting back. it turned out to be spark plugs (got lucky that it was the 1st thing i changed). threw in 6 bosch platinum2 and it was good as new, changed it in the advanced auto part parking lot. MAF would been my next thing.... then fuel pump eeeech...

I have noticed recently that my 4runner (97 SR5 4x4 v-6 5-spd) under heavy acceleration in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears is "lurching" a little. It seems that i am somehow losing some power when i gun it in those gears. It still accelerates and gains RPMs, but i am worried. my first response is to...

i have the athracite one and it actually doesnt look too bad when dirty, even though its pretty dark

Mine doesn't say 4x4 or V6 anywhere, only way you can tell is the fact that its a fair amount taller, or if you look in the cab you see 2 sticks instead of one. Have had my runner about a month and a half now, can't get enough of it. Had to drive 4 hours to houston to find the 4X4 V6 5SPD...
