So, I have been using a full synthetic and changing it about every 7-8k. What intervals do you guys change your oil at? What about the tranny, differentials, and transfer case?

I am at 200k now. I did a full valve job recently and expect it to go to 500k at this point. It runs like it did when it was new.

What I want to know is how a castiron block would have warped in the first place. It seems like whatever warpage there is would have been from the factory. I mean, it takes over 2000 degrees to melt castiron while the aluminum heads melt at like 1200 degrees. How could the block have gotten hot...

It might be because it is warped. I am wondering why it only blows coolant sometimes when I start the already warm engine. Also how could such a slight warpage cause a problem? It is a castiron block so how could it have warped in the first place without melting the heads and destroying the rest...

Sorry if that came across as rude guy but you responded without reading my entire post. The block was off by a hair and the machine shop and labor cost to machine the block was outrageous.
