    OEM rear shock install question

Installed retainers (washers, adapters, etc.) and all is well. So for those looking to change out rear shocks make sure you get the three additional retainers for each side in addition to what comes in the actual shock package. They are indeed sold separately.

    OEM rear shock install question

Went to local dealership today and found out that there are three separate pieces that need to be purchased in addition to the shock, bushings and top nut. They call them "adapters"....appears to be fancy word for washers.

    OEM rear shock install question

I spoke to a service guy at Mossy where I bought the damn things and his comment was "I don't know without seeing the vehicle"....I said "you can't tell me how many washers go on the back shock of a non XREAS fitted 4Runner?"....."not without seeing it" he says. So I just hung up on him. I am...

    OEM rear shock install question

Part #4853080372 that was sent to me and we installed. Pay no attention to the "wetness"...I sprayed some WD40 on the bushing yesterday to keep the damn thing from squeaking

    OEM rear shock install question

Will post that as well with the picture. The fact that mine is a Limited should not change anything should it?

Now I am really wondering why the dealership sent me shocks and bushing that look entirely different than those. Will post picture tomorrow of mine. Thanks again Swamp for the effort

    OEM rear shock install question

Any chance to take a peek at an '03-'05? My rear shocks look nothing like that picture. I'm wondering if Mossy Toyota (toyotapartscheap.com) sent me the wrong shocks. I don't have my Iphone cable to upload a picture to show what mine looks like. Will do tomorrow morning. I may stop by my local...

    OEM rear shock install question

Thanks a ton and most appreciated. I assume the rear suspension didn't change with the slight change in body style in '06?

    OEM rear shock install question

2004 4Runner AWD Limited ---- Can somebody tell me on a NON XREAS suspension -- how many washers are used on each rear shock? As a reference point -- I tore out my XREAS suspension and replaced the fronts with Bilstein 5100 shocks and purchased OEM NON XREAS shocks for the rear. The rear...

FS: 4th Gen Sport Edition wheels/Nitto Terra Grappler

I have 5 Sport Edition wheels for sale with 4 brand new (less than 500 miles) 265/70/17 Terra Grappler tires. TPMS is included on all the wheels. The tires were just installed in early January this year. There are no patches, repairs, marks, tears, etc. of any kind. I put my stock Limited...

    4th Generation 17" wheels/tires

It really isn't the "mucking it up" that I am concerned about. It is the ride comfort and creature comforts (IPOD, Sat Radio, etc.) that I'd want in a DD. Plus, I am not really hauling stuff that is dirty, etc......just bulky.

    4th Generation 17" wheels/tires

It's sort of a long story but here goes - I am currently using the 4Runner as my 3rd vehicle for snow, Home Depot trips etc. I am a performance car gearhead. I am contemplating selling my daily driver ('09 BMW M3) and getting a 911 Turbo which I will not drive everyday. I have been looking at a...
