Half the light illuminating the multifunction display is out....Is it a PITA to fix??

The power boost from the four cylinder Subaru pancake to the Toyota v6 is great. I can't help watching the fuel economy meter as it drops from 18+ to 14-15 when I step on the throttle, though! In fact, when I was driving in the snow, the the milage was dropping down to the 13mpg range.
