It is certainly less noticeable with newer technology, but it will still be there if you really mash on the gas. If you have a CVT then you won't notice it.

Yup. As the engine reaches higher RPMs (and you get to the end of the gear) the torque begins to drop off and as a result your rate of acceleration decreases. That'll feel like a deceleration. When the tranny shifts to the next gear the RPMs drop down and the engine produces more torque again...

4WD lets you drive on worse road conditions, but when it comes to stopping it doesn't matter if you have 4WD, AWD or 2WD, you're pretty much all going to stop the same (especially if you try to stand on the brakes). Just remember to keep slow when the conditions are less than stellar.

I used to, but around here it seemed like I was the only one doing it. Mostly I don't. If someone flashes me, I'll flick my lights to an on-coming car to pay it forward (within a half mile).

Exactly the reason I still believe the vehicle was an Urban Runner.

Have you considered upgrading to a newer version of vB? Its up to version 3.8.1 (cost is $180 on the downside).

I'm not the owner, but if it was a 4th gen then it could have been the Urban Runner package. Those have the 18" rims off the limited and the rest is sport edition more or less.

I think it might look nice with the rear windshield of a 2-door blazer, with all that rake. The only vehicle that I find looks better after giving it a truck bed are cherokee sports, but that's definitely a unique and cool rig.

You are correct. I was going on the fact that she told me it was V8, I took a spin by and sure enough it's a V6. So I guess that rules that out really quick! :bonk:

Ok, something else to throw into the mix... My ex had an '08 SR5 with a V8. Hers had 2H, 4H and 4L. After reading the boards it seems like this is an oddity as most V8s come with full time 4X4. Did they ever offer this option with the sport edition or limited?

I'm not an owner yet, but I'm the market for used. Probably an '06 or so. Worst years of depreciation behind it, and still relatively new as far as I'm concerned.
