How is your painted front valance holding up?

I'm over 1 year in on mine and headed into the second Rust belt winter. I did pretty much the exact same process (scuff, prime, multiple light coats of Rustoleum enamel). I took the valances completely off the bumpers to make sure I got good side coverage and gave them an extended curing time...

    LED/HID/Retrofit upgrade

How much do you want to spend? lol. I did a big write up on the 5th Gen lighting system that is linked in my sig if you're interested in a little reading. El Dusty is mostly correct- I would add that you can spend hundreds of dollars trying this or that "drop-in" lightbulb upgrade that for...

Question about 2021 standard LED headlights.

Swap-in LEDs won't ever work well in the OEM projectors, they're essentially crap. If you're set on going with LED, only a full retrofit to an LED projector (like those done by Kustom54) OR a whole new light housing (like one from Xenon Depot) will work.

Best "just plug in" headlight upgrade?

Check the thread in my sig. :hatsoff:

Best lift option for trail riding/fire trails and lots of on-road DD

Definitely take a look at the Eibach kit if you can. Installed mine last year with Wheeler's / Eibach T13 rear springs and I'm still super happy with it. It doesn't require, but I still added Dobinson's UCAs that I can't recommend enough- an extra $150 up front and I don't have to worry about...

2017 TRD OR with KDSS: Toyota dealer or off road shop for lift/wheels/tires?

benhalleniii Definitely not saying you have to go this way, but it definitely ain't fake news. There are two options- either release some of the pressure in the system, or use jacks or the truck's weight to manipulate the LCA / KDSS sway bar coupling back together. Either way, again, good luck...

2017 TRD OR with KDSS: Toyota dealer or off road shop for lift/wheels/tires?

I have KDSS and did the lift myself. Whichever route you go between dealer or shop, the most important thing is to make sure they have experience lifting and aligning IFS- experience with KDSS is a definite plus. Before you pull the trigger, make sure you are familiar with the procedure to...

Is something wrong with my 4Runner?

This is totally normal. The engine in the 4R is dead nuts reliable but is NOT anywhere near efficient and it changes a lot based on the way you drive. Try this: set your middle user screen to the setting that actively shows your fuel economy based on the accelerator- if you turned off your...

PSA: Your Amazon Hi-beam LED headlights are garbage.

Agree with everything Jetboy said, and we've both said it before in other threads. I think if people knew the ACTUAL results of cheap lighting mods (i.e. drop-in bulbs) they'd wait and do a proper retrofit. But again, as discussed in other threads, the starting position (high) of the OEM...

    UCA Help

I'm running Dobinsons UCAs and hadn't heard them mentioned yet. They're worth it to me since they're the only ones on the market with an OEM maintenance free sealed ball joint. There's a thread on here about them, check them out.

Lifting Independent Front Suspensions (IFS) - A Must Read

I've seen a lot of people asking technical questions about the lifting / larger tire fitment process. Those who haven't seen it and are really interested in the technical aspects of what happens to wheel travel and suspension geometry are highly encouraged to read the article provided by Coastal...

    LED fog light bulbs....

Just wanted anyone interested to see this very detailed write up. I believe anything that fits these Tacos should fit the 5th Gen 4R as well. I was pretty surprised at the failure of the BD SAEs, since they make quality stuff. I was unsurprised at the quality of the Rigid kit, but $$$ as usual...

    Lazy mans BMC.

I agree with the earlier post that it's probably asking a little much to pound it straight back with regard to the thickness / strength of the material at that spot. If it's supposed to protect in an accident, I'm thinking it's too stout. Maybe you could if up on a lift, tire off and suspension...

    Morimoto M-LED Retro Quik Headlights

Perfect! Obviously I want to hear all about it once you get things set up. Any elaboration you might be able to give on the headlight seals would be great too. Thanks man.

    Morimoto M-LED Retro Quik Headlights

Just putting a call out there to see if anyone has any experience with the Morimoto M-LED RetroQuik kit, either installing it yourself or as part of an aftermarket retrofit. I'm considering taking the plunge at some point soon. I'm not totally in love with the idea of cracking the headlight...
