It goes away, because the cat is now hot enough to burn off those vapors and particles you smell while it is still too cold. It's normal. Try different grades of gas to see if it helps any.

Yeah, the Burtman was all I could find that was a kit of sorts. I figured that the Runner has been around for a while, and the custom suspension companies would have built various kits for all models by now. I guess it will have to be custom then.

Thanks RR. Yeah, I don't want to scrape, but I do want it down to at least "car" level and use a lower profile tire. It has big all terrains on it, and it drives, well ....like a truck! My Ranger was wrecked 3 days before Christmas, and I'm still not used to this big V6 :)
