    Do I keep it?

I also had the 2005 V8 2WD. 160K miles, 6 months ago I traded for something a lot more modern. Top end fully loaded Kia Sorento v6. I do miss the V8 low end torque and the roll down back window, but nothing else really The V6 Sorento was limited in power by the ECU for the first 2,000 miles...

Why do 03's not have the head gasket problem?

Never heard of a V8 with head gasket problems. Mighty pricey to change it before it fails.

    Ignorant Battery Question

Friend of mine has a brand new Honda, well it is now a couple months old. Looked to have parasitic draw killing the battery. That was my diagnosis (without measuring) but from the type of failures. Overnight sit, would not crank in the morning. Dealer replaced the battery, now the car can...

    Going to an f150 ecoboost

I traded in my 2005 4R V8 and looked at all the pickups. Immediately rejected the ecoboost models, not nearly enough mpg relative to performance.

who here has bypassed the AIS system on their v8 toyota? Should I bypass mine??

Did mine after getting the error code, did not do the blocking plates. Of course it IS removable. Potential cost of not dealing with this makes it a no-brainer.

2005 2wd V8 Limited - sold it this past week, some shopper will get a very good truck

OK, I'm 70+ years old now and have decided to no longer get under the car for maintenance. I've done all the brake and rotor replacements, oil changes, dash bulbs, radio aux adapter, PS service, serpentine belt, two AC blower replacements, and wheel bearings in the driveway. The money I save...

    Windshield Replacement Cost

Check for wind noise after the replacement. I'm still trying to correct it. Probably moulding related

    Replacement leather seatcovers

Last week I had a local auto upholstery / headliner / convertible top place replace two or three of my leather panels with matching vinyl. Looks good, one day service, $325 total out the door 1 year guarentee

    DIY: Front Strut Replacement

Time to get a new battery, on your schedule. Not in the next snowstorm. I'm on my 5th I think, two were bad and replaced quickly - one under NAPA warranty, and the Toyota dealer one by something else since I was far from a dealer. The Toyota one did last a few days but I consider it a waste...

    Question on Longevity

Finally, tomorrow, leaving it with the upholstery shop. Vinyl replacement patches for me - perfect color match. Cheap ($350) two side panels and back panel replacement. There's a couple of holes in the leather seat back from something metal poking through into my back when driving. (I had...

    Road Rage incident

Hey, I live about a mile up the Wilderness Oak hill from that intersection. It's a speedway, once or twice a year the motorcycle cops work it for a day or two. Last guy who brake-checked me was on I-85, light traffic, Atlanta, GA. Cop saw the whole thing, driver (out-of town guy in a rent...

    Road Rage incident

That's a very dangerous pay-back to admit to doing. Next time, you may not have a satisfying end to such a transaction. Expensive, even deadly results happen often from this sort of thing.

    Road Rage incident

At some point this guy will mess with someone just as crazy agressivw and will come to a bad end. People in San Antonio are unfailingly friendly except on the road.
