    W56-b to G54

No joke.. Haven't been able to get a hold of them.. Thanks for the replies folks. Sorry for the delay, been busy with school and work. I think I have decided to just keep the t-case that's with the G series trans to save a few bucks and headache. Going to go ahead and order new hydraulics, even...

    W56-b to G54

Hello all, So back in November the original transmission in my 86 decided it had enough and wanted to leave this cruel earth. After a few weeks of searching I came across one that my buddy had. It was in one of his pickups and he had just had it rebuilt with maybe 500 miles on the rebuild when...

    Transmission ?

Thanks for all the replies fellas. I was able to run down a W56-B in an 86 that was rebuilt less than a year ago for $300, going to pull it tomorrow. I ordered a new AISIN clutch, master cylinder, slave cylinder, fly wheel, rear main seal, and a starter last night. Am I missing any parts I...

    Transmission ?

So the donor truck is an 84, so its got the G52. Is there any differences in the transfer case between the donor and mine? Also I saw somewhere that the G series transmissions were geared a little different than the W series, will that affect my daily driving at all?

    Transmission ?

Hey guys, So the W56-B in my 4runner has been on its way out for the last few months (Long story). Well tonight on my way to class it finally gave up the ghost. My future father in law has a toyota pickup that is either an 84 or 85 (waiting on a text back to figure out which), so from my...

    Code 11 and more..

Bump. I know someone here has to have some advice!! Also today I noticed the check engine light was coming on intermittently while driving. It seemed like it only came on when I held a certain RPM for a period of time. If I let out of the throttle and got back into it a few times the light would...

    Code 11 and more..

Allrighty, So here lately my truck has been throwing the knock sensor code, well I finally got some time to look into it and low and behold the sensor it self was just loose. So after tightening the sensor and doing a oil change it hasn't run any better! I decided to un hook the battery and...

    Where to find??

86 t4r 22re... confused about this exhaust situation...

I would stick with 1.75" pipe, there is no need for 2.25" on these small displacement motors. Messing with the exhaust on these trucks wont help in the power department much, but then again nothing really helps for power. If your not going to live in a state with emissions testing, leave the CAT...

Just in case any one ever has this issue or just wants to know, the proper National bearing part # is 32307W. I have a call in to Trail Gears sales manager to see if they are going to make this issue right and refund me the price of this new bearing... We shall see how this one goes.

So I called TG today... After talking to one of there "techs" I'm even more irate. He admitted that they knew of this problem, and have had other customers call and tell them about it. But yet nothing on their website warns people of this problem. He told me that he would have to talk to his...

    Rear 3rd Member Questions

From what I gathered on that post on pirate is that to save money, Companies are selling the same bearing kits for two different applications? Even though there is an obvious difference in the bearing size. If so that's wrong. I checked the part number that was on my receipt they sent and it was...

    Rear 3rd Member Questions

Any problems with TG install kits? Alright. I got the rebuild kit I ordered from TG in the mail last week. Pulled the third this weekend and sent it off with my buddy to rebuild it . Tonight he calls me and tells me there's an issue with the install kit. Apparently one of the pinion bearings is...

Thanks for the input. As for buying a used 3rd its just precautionary incase something is bad wrong with mine. I'm having a buddy of mine who has done multiple rear end setups do the work. The best way I can explain is the slack isn't rotational, its up and down.
