Key+Fob is annoying
I bought the Key+Fob-in-one and had zero problems programming it. Works great. Until I started using it. It is very easy to press one of the buttons when you are turning the key to start the vehicle. Very annoying. I went back to the original Fob after a week.
It looks to me like you have a poor ground connection. Pull the bolt out and grind away the paint around the bolt hole. The bolt also has a coating on it so take a wire wheel/brush and remove the coating.
I'm 61 and my odometer broke long ago. MY 2006 SR5 V6 has faired much better. 225k and still looking good. Rebuilt front end at 200k and have only replaced the alternator once and brakes every 4 years. The calipers freeze before the pads wear out.
When I bought my '06 the headlights and brake lights worked and that was it. Dark inside, too. I don't know how a person can live with something like that. I know I can't.
I replaced the BMW because it leaked more oil than the Exxon Valdez. Fun car but the v10 that powered it has a habit of eating bearings. I got the 4Runner because I have always had very good luck with Toyota.

My last vehicle was a 2006 M5. That thing had some serious delay in throttle application. Used the Sprint Booster and it was much better. Compared to my BMW the T4R is almost unnoticeable.
