I had a look at it again and yes I am missing metal. I did solve it temporarily my placing a thin ring of metal topside of the mount under the upper half. Probably have my frame repairman put on a new mount when spring comes. I can't have it down during snow season. LOL!

It definitely pays if you don't have a service history to pull the fan and pulley off the water pump to see that weep hole. I was definitely going to do mine regardless because of the mileage. It made that trip feel more confident as we were going deep into no-cellphone territory.

I would say the main thing is no noticeable leaks, particularly at the weep hole. After that as long as it is spinning smooth and doing its job, you're probably alright.

I used Rustbullet on that area on mine and topcoated it with Rustoleum bedliner-in-a-can. So far so good.

I'm having no problems getting a temperature readout. What hardware are you running Torque on?

I've had good luck recoating aluminum wheels with Duplicolor's wheel coating products. Got a can for my rims. Just need to get to the wheels before winter.
