Body Mount Issue

Probably not a common question but figured I'd ask.

I've got a totally new body mount setup OEM for the #2 passenger side location and am having issues getting the mount to seat properly. The top half keeps popping through the mount bracket no matter what I try once I put weight back down on it. I am thinking that some material may have rusted into junk when I pulled it as the center barrel was total rust when I pulled the original. Perhaps the hole in the mount bracket is now too big to work properly?

Like I said, I have all the rubber and hardware new straight from Toyota for this location. This is the mount just behind the front tire. Any trick to seating these right or is my bracket rusted out?

As a further question on the subject, is it normal for the top half to be able fall through the mount hole when uncompressed? Mine will fall till the bonded washer reaches it.

Not supposed to pass through... you may need a new mount welded to the truck. It can be done... just time consuming... Pretty sure you can purchase them from Toyota. Able to post up pictures?

I had a look at it again and yes I am missing metal. I did solve it temporarily my placing a thin ring of metal topside of the mount under the upper half.

Probably have my frame repairman put on a new mount when spring comes. I can't have it down during snow season. LOL!
