    "Rumble Strip" Transmission issue

And I definitely like doing my own work too. The older I get the less time I have but the more I realize that I put way more pride into my own belongings than someone else will!! And they'll charge me way more for it lol

    "Rumble Strip" Transmission issue

He definitely did a flush, dropped the pan and replaced the filter. I looked underneath and can see the excessive gasket sealant from resealing the pan. Anyways, the 4ru ner is off to a recommended transmission shop on Monday for a diagnosis. Will respond here when I get the diagnosis

    "Rumble Strip" Transmission issue

I'm guessing I've put about 500 miles on it since. I had my mechanic do the flush at his shop but I did not get to see that fluid before and after unfortunately. It's going back next week and I'll be asking him about fluid levels and what the old fluid looked like. Will keep everyone updated

    "Rumble Strip" Transmission issue

Here's my story and I'm looking for a bit of help. 2006 V6 Sport Edition w/ 260 000km (160 000 miles) Have been experiencing the shudder for awhile now as I originally thought it was due to misalignment from seized cam adjusters and LCAs. After replacing the LCAs and getting an alignment (took...

Just an update for anyone interested. Full tranny flush/filter service and 2 bottles of shudder fixx later and my 06 4runner V6 4WD is still shuddering. I thought it went away but not the case. I've read some people saying that the shudder fixx has taken a bit of time to work but just as many...

Parking Brake Doesn't Hold vs Drag on the Rotors

Thanks for this. So I'm assuming you mean, adjust with the star adjusters so there's no drag and then adjust the nut under the centre Console for the proper amount of clicks?

Parking Brake Doesn't Hold vs Drag on the Rotors

I tried this method but as mentioned, when at 7 or 8 clicks the rear rotors are getting way too hot. If I loosen off the parking brake more, the rotors are cooler but parking brake barely works. Does anyone know if there's a difference between using the star adjusters behind the rear rotors...

Parking Brake Doesn't Hold vs Drag on the Rotors

Just put new rear pads and rotors on my 06 V6 4runner. Attempted to adjust the parking brake using star adjusters at the same time because it wasn't holding very well even at 12+ clicks. After adjusting it the parking brake held great (around 7 clicks) but I noticed the rotors getting EXTREMELY...

Easy Peasy transmission fluid exchange V6

You will DEFINITELY need a new gasket. I just had all of this done at a shop as it was there for something else. Pan drop, filter replaced, new gasket and fluid. In the end, with 2 hours labour, new filter (screen) and gasket, plus cost of fluid, cost me $400 CAD Vehicle doesn't shudder...
