Any recommendations on how to attach it somewhere else? It's not for heavy duty stuff, more for securing lightweight items like backpacks, folding chairs etc.

I want to attach a few tie downs to the cargo area, but I don't want to disassemble the plastic. Can I use rivnut to attach a D ring directly to the plastic or will the rivet gun break the plastic panel? I used rivets in the past, but only with metal not plastic.
