Ha! So true. I can almost bet Toyota will not compete with the ranger raptor, it’s way too conservative. I bet their top engine is the 2.4L turbo hybrid… 360 ish hp and 400+tq. I’ve given up on them being competitive these days. Sad really.

With the Highlander and other lexus vehicles moving away form the old 3.5L V6, I find it odd that the redesigned Tacoma would carry on with it. I imagine the new Hybrid powertrain and 2.4T would be the sole offerings, but what do I know:)

I’m going to guess the new 2.4L Turbo 4 that debuted in the new Lexus NX this past week will find its way into the 4R and other Toyota products. 275 hp and 317 lb torque.

Frame moves to the TNGA-F platform from what I’ve read?? Hybrid option sounds feasible being rumors are the tundra and land cruiser will offer this as well .

Thank you! I’ve also heard the same..... 3.5L v6 turbo (LS Motor) with hybrid for top tier tundra motor, maybe without hybrid for the volume models. And yes, I believe a 2.4 or 2.5L turbo will be the new GR replacement going into many of the upcoming Toyota and Lexus models....4Runner, Tacoma...

If it’s still over two years out (MY 2023), I highly doubt it would get the current Tacoma drivetrain. At that point the taco will be up for a refresh and I recall reading an article from the lead Toyota truck engineer that new power trains are coming. My opinion, the current taco drivetrain...

I’m thinking it’s calendar year launch. So new 4R in 2022 as a 2023 MY.....likely fall launch like most in the past.

Finally spoke to my dealers service manager and he is having Toyota’s regional engineer/tech take a look at it in mid March. Hopefully the problem can be located and fixed.

STill waiting on an answer from my dealer. Have had both front and rear diff replaced on my 2017 Limited and the same problem exists. Left two messages for my service advisor.....think he’s avoiding me.
