Thanks for the input, folks. I'm going to try and sell them here and buy again on the other end, to avoid the hassle of trailering. I would like to do some minor sightseeing after I get west of Denver (if taking 70) or Amarillo (if taking 40).
We're moving from NC to CA and I have a 4Runner full load of household stuff to take. We also have a nearly new (1yo, about $2000 new) washer & dryer. I *could* rent a trailer and pull them the ~2800 miles to the new house. Or, I could sell them for probably $400-500, not have to pull a...
I don't know if this is accurate or not, but I am currently having balancing issues (Cooper Disco AT3) that were installed and attempted to be balanced twice by Discount Tire, and they failed miserably (twice). None of the Discount Tires around me come up on the GSP9700 locator tool, but the...
I just had 275/70-17 AT3 put on my 2010 4Runner (on Konig Countersteer X wheels) and am having serious balancing issues. At right around 50mph it becomes very noticeable so I took it back to Discount Tire yesterday and asked them to re-balance. They tried and failed, even after switching from...
As an additional piece of input data, I just put 275/70R17 Cooper Discoverer AT3
on mine and they do rub (driver and passenger sides) as you approach full lock. This is without a lift. My 4R is in the shop today having a Toytec Boss kit installed. :)
We use a Britax Boulevard for our daughter (3) and a Britax Frontier 85 (almost identical to the 90) and the only thing I don't like about the Frontier is that the cover isn't very well secured to the seat, so whenever my son gets in & out he tends to detach the stupid little elastic hooks on...
I'm currently debating between the ST Maxx in 255/80R17 and the C-range 255/75R17. Do you, or anyone else, have any experience or comparison between the two? They'll be going on a '10 4R with Toytec Boss kit (and LR UCAs).
2) I'm not inclined to spend money on a full lift at the same time as the wheel/tire purchase, so whaddya y'all think about a cheap spacer lift for the time being, just to accommodate the bigger tires & wider wheels for a couple months before I upgrade the suspension (probably Toytec Boss kit)...
I've been holding off on this upgrade until I actually needed new tires, and I do, so now I'm prepping to buy. I was inspired by Alex's mods here: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/175495-wheel-size-offset-255-80-17-tires.html and plan to do something very similar. I have two...
