    is premium fuel worth it?

Good question. I've always used premium in my 2004 V6 4r. I average 18.5 actual mileage but with gas prices ... I'm wondering if 87 octane would work as well.

Get a brake controller for your trailer.

Yep, Prodigy II for me. A transmission cooler is also a good idea.

    Parking Brake Repair Procedure Question

Here is my experience getting the shoe hold down pin/spring installed. After reading the whole thread, I was dreading doing this. One of the shoe hold downs had broken and the shoe was dragging. I ordered the part kit from Napa and just used what was needed to fix the one shoe. I moved the...

    Fair pricing for 2004 SRT?

Something you can do is to go on craigslist in your area and find out what dealers are getting. That would give you a pretty good idea for a starting price.

    maxdef Build Thread

Thanks for measuring your lift. I'm not sure what happened when I installed my lift. I did the driver's side first and then the passenger side and then removed the passenger side and reinstalled it, thinking I must have done something wrong. It just came out too high. I also installed both CV...

    maxdef Build Thread

I have a question on your lift. First of all, I did the same thing with the 5100's, OME 884's, and Toytech Super Flex in the rear. How much lift did you get in the front with the 884's ? With mine, on the bottom (stock) 5100 setting, I got 24 1/4 inches measuring from the center of the hub...

    Tire reccomendation please

I like the cooper ST Maxx's but also the Falken Wildpeaks. I think the Falkens are a quieter tire and that's what I'm running now. Very happy with them.

    4th Gen Suspension Options/FAQ

I also had a similar experience with the OME 884's. I'm sorry I did not see Byways post earlier. I used 5100's front and rear with the OME 884's on the stock (lowest) setting in the front and Toytech Super Flex springs in the rear. Putting the stock springs next to the 884's, the 884's were...

What did you do with your 4runner today?

Just replaced both front axles and installed JBA ucas. Also OME 884's with 5100's set at stock position. Question on the 5100/884's. My before measurement from the center of the hub to the fender was 18 1/2 inches. My after measurement was 24 1/2 inches. Does this sound right ? That's a lot...

    Changing to Synthetic Oil Question

That is true...BUT if you have been running regular oil and you switch to synthetic you can find that the synthetic oil may slip by a seal that regular oil won't. I know first hand. I had 05 Rubicon that I switched over to synthetic and the rear main seal started to leak. I switched back to...

    Changing to Synthetic Oil Question

I have gone with Valvoline Full Synthetic 5-30W and use the OEM filter with no problems. In fact, I've changed the front and rear differentials and the transmission to synthetic. Watch for oil leaks after changing over the engine oil to synthetic. Other car makers have had problems with leaks...
