I have gone with Valvoline Full Synthetic 5-30W and use the OEM filter with no problems. In fact, I've changed the front and rear differentials and the transmission to synthetic. Watch for oil leaks after changing over the engine oil to synthetic. Other car makers have had problems with leaks...
