    Time to start modding

I was aware of the O2 sims being required. Inspections around here at this point are just a plug into the computer to check for function. I don't think I have seen anyone crawl up under there is years. Good advice though. I am not sure, at this point, that it would even last that much longer...

Thanks. I will take a peak around for that LED thread.

I wouldn't expect to see much in terms of MPG gails. The stockers are pretty efficient. The scavenging effectiveness here should help, but it won't be much. Smoother power and crisper response should be noted and especially if you clean up the exhaust and ditch the cats.

BTW...love the build thread and the bikes on the hauler as well!! :zoom:

    Time to start modding

Thanks. I heard some rumblings about the 5th gen calipers being better and bolting right up. I do like the Powerstop/slot rotors though. I will be doing all the work and fabrication myself. I have a lift and all the tools I need. More concerned about the part sourcing and what guys are...

2005 Sport V8 build Thread. Slow But Steady.

Looking good FYI...its probably just as easy to pop off the flares as compared to taping all that up. You can buy the clips on Amazon and they aren't expensive.

Here is the breakdown. 2003 4Runner, limited, V8, 270K mileage. She is going to need: - full brakes. I wanted to upgrade to the Sport rotors and caliper set up here but I am hearing something about the the newer calipers bolting right on and working great - She has the dreaded exhaust...

    DIY: Transfer Case Actuator Repair

I am guessing this post isn't about the actuator seal repair? You still need to split the case to do that properly?

Love these picture. Nice Tig welds as well. Any undercarriage pics of them all mounted up? I am one emissions inspection away from not needing another on. I think I am going to go ahead and get it done and then just ditch all the cats and stock stuff. Run a dual exhaust and dump it...

    Exhaust manifold leak/tick

Not an option on the V8's.

Thanks for the follow up. I am figuring on doing this on a lift and they do look like a PITB to get in there. What exhaust did you marry them up to and did you ditch the cats altogether and go with the O2 sims?

Seems like those are hard to come by as well. I saw the 1 thread. Is there any real cost savings in that option as of now though?

    Exhaust manifold leak/tick

Shoot me a PM and maybe we can put together a group buy.

    Exhaust manifold leak/tick

Seems to be more prevalent in the V8s. To those that went the headers route, did you wind up mounting up a new set of converters or did you just weld them to old ones. I am wondering how good the O2 sims are. I would prefer to ditch all the O2s because at 260K, I am sure they are a bit...
