I installed the Monroe Quick Struts on mine. Mine was kinda low being a 2000 and the quick struts raised it about an inch in the front. I think the springs are fine but the struts don't dampen any better than the old OEM ones.
Time to replace the knock sensors and wiring harness. What else should be done or replaced while the intake is off? I'm also way over due for a timing belt and associated parts. Would it save any labor to do that at the same time?
My steering rack is leaking from a hole in the boot on the drivers side and getting worse. I'm guessing an internal seal is blown and can only be fixed by replacing the rack. Not good timing for me right now. Does anyone know if these things are drivable without power steering?
The noise started about a week ago. Just identified it. When the a.c. compressor clutch is engaged it's fine. But when the compressor cycles off or the a.c. is turned off and the clutch freewheels it sounds like the bearing is trying to seize. If the bearing fully seizes will it simply act like...
Just noticed this. Not sure how it's getting in there or how to get it out. It's seems to be inside the metal portion of the fender. Not just the plastic flare. Anybody?
Mine does this every once in a while on a hot restart, often after fueling up. I've just learned to hold about half throttle while cranking and it always fires up.
After reading posts about people being scared by how their truck felt after mounting the spare on the roof I expected the RTT to be horrendous. I was was very pleasantly surprised. It still felt very stable both on the road and off camber off road. And this was when I had the front sway bar removed.
265/75R16 fits under mine with the hitch. The narrower but same diameter 235/85R16 also fits and doesn't hang down as much. I wouldn't worry about the weight of carrying the spare on the roof either. I had a 300 pound roof top tent and it was a non issue.
