Two years later Toyota does seem to have the inserts available individually. I had to pick up some parts and needed to fill the cart for free shipping and stocked up on inserts recently. Still getting at least a couple of years out of them which is pretty impressive.

I think another distinct differences is that the Camelback/Drabbits has a slight bend in it, right above the front doors so that the whole rack more closely follows the contour of the roof. I don't remember the Gobi doing that, so that when you look at it from the side, the rear of the rack is...

Is there any breakdown of what type of rack individuals ordered? i.e. maybe the "off the shelf" styles are quicker/easier to make and ship vs. ones that need custom work? Even something seemingly as simple as adding additional mesh to one area of the rack could be considerable if he's already...
