any set of speakers will be better than the factory 4" in the dash. however I wouldn't expect a huge improvement in sound quality due to the speakers pointing down and not being able to handle low-end frequencies when the stereo is remotely loud.

are high-level inputs the same as speaker-level inputs? if so, what makes this amp any different than any of the other jillion other speaker-level in put amps?

I want to keep the factory head unit in my 4runner but am tired of its weak output. is it possible to splice in an external amplifier into the stock head unit? If so, how?

any smoke coming out of the exhaust? any puddles under the motor? check the dipstick and radiator for fluids that don't look like they should be there.

you have the camshaft backing plate, right? there are two notches on the plate that would appear above each cam sprocket. the cam sprockets have notches on the outer edge and arrows on the spokes. align those notches with the notches on the backing plate and you are golden on the top end...

it is likely that just the wire is bad, shouldn't cost you more than $15.

the PCV valve is located on the passenger side valve cover. it is only accessible if you remove the intake plenum above it. the brake booster hose connects from the front of the power booster to the left side of the intake plenum

my oxygen sensor died about 2 1/2 years ago and I replaced it with one of the universal sensors. wiring it up took a little bit of time but it has worked just fine ever since.

not sure what the name of the hose is but it is not that big of a deal to take the intake plenum off to get to it. just label each hose you remove and take LOTS of pictures.

i just got a call back from a local shop who looked at my 4runner and they quoted $3k (including timing belt and water pump replacement which is due). :bash: this cost includes doing a valve job, basically an entire head reconditioning. seems steep to me, what do you think?
