Needing Advice on a trade for an 89 4runner.

I just sold an 89 for $2000.00, it was a 3.0 V6 auto but it only had 160K, it also had Smitty Bilt front and rear bumpers and Nerf bars and 31" BFG All Terrain Radials with good tread. No rust, good interior, everything worked but the back window (easy fix). I was asking $2600.00 but I bought me...

Better than buying a new one from Toyota, saved yourself alot of money.

Any motor will work, I would stick as close to the same year as possible. Take your motor with you to a wrecking yard and compare them.

    1990 4runner V6 3.0 High temp/overheating

Toyota had a recall for bad headgaskets for the 3.0 V6, get your V.I.N. and call your local Toyota dealer and they will run your V.I.N. and tell you if your truck is part of the recall, if so it is a free fix they may even install new heads depending on the shape of yours again- free!! You do...

    4Runner 4 wheel drive

I have a 91 with 3.0, I bought it with a blown motor and had it rebuilt, totally. It already had new heads from the previous owner so I bought new pistons, crank kit, oil pump- the works. My problem is the 4 wheel drive, when I shift in to 4 Hi the light on the dash (4X4) comes on but it doesn't...

Problems on my roadtrip from Monterey CA to San Agelo TX

When my 91 4R sits for a couple days my speedometer cable makes a whining-screeching sound until I travel a few miles, it also bounces, I think that it is just worn out and the cable is dry in there. Thats all I can tell you about that as for your lights who knows?

    1st Gen ('86) rear window

If you need a motor any Toyota power window motor will work, they are all the same. I found this out the hard way, I ordered one from Toyota and a freind told me so I went to the bone yard and got one for $5, saved about $110.00, got mine out of a Camry

    cold + 4runner = no good!

Is your truck a 3.0? My 3.0 was doing the same thing it turned out to be the "Cold star sensor" (I believe thats what its called) Anyway it senses when the engine is cold and injects a shot of fuel, the way to check this is to pull the small hose that goes into the air intake and shoot a little...
