AC issues - need some guidance

Oh interesting, never even thought to look at that. I assume it is only for the auto feature though, right? Would it have any impact with the AC just set to Max/Lo?

    FJ suspension costs

About 9 years ago, I purchased OEM 2008 FJ Cruiser trail teams suspension (front and rear shocks and springs). They came out of a brand new FJ, and I intended to install them on my 2005 SR5. I believe they were supposed to be a direct replacement for the OEM 4runner parts and provided a bit of a...

AC issues - need some guidance

Its been a while since I've been on here, but I've owned my 2005 SR5 for over 10 years now. It has been serving me primarily as a winter vehicle and large item hauler, so usage has been very limited over the last 2 to 3 years. She's been there for me when I've needed her, but this summer the...

    *** V6 Head Gasket Action Request ***

I am also not a regular consumer of snake oil, but when this head gasket issue happened to me, I used BARS head gasket fix (1111) that I purchased from Advance Auto. There was someone either earlier in this thread or maybe another forum that had used this with good results. I used this product...

    Electrical problem - Please help!!

Well, I am a bit of an idiot. When I saw this suggestion to check the ETCS fuse I didn't have much hope that it would help because I had previously checked all the fuses after the initial incident and all checked out OK. I went to find the ETCS fuse this morning and after studying the diagram on...

    Electrical problem - Please help!!

Well, it's one step forward and two steps back. I put in the new battery (luckily got it free of charge thanks to warrantee) and it started without issue. It idled fine but had a check engine light on, along with a few other dash lights. The code that I pulled is "P2118 - throttle actuator...

    Electrical problem - Please help!!

I want to keep this updated in case someone has a similar situation. I finally had a bit of time to get back into this and was able to do the following so far: 1. removed the old starter 2. installed new starter 3. tested continuity of wiring and checked fuses I did not get a chance to try to...

    Electrical problem - Please help!!

Had a few minutes with the multimeter today. Can confirm the battery is fully toasted. Reads 0.00 volts vs my other car that reads 12.4. will try to test continuity in the battery cables later when I have more time. So, at this point I know for certain that I need a new battery and starter...

    Electrical problem - Please help!!

The battery was fairly new and I had advance Auto test the battery and the alternator. Double checked the battery at pepboys also since it was still under their warrantee. I guess I'll need to try again to get that starter out and likely replace the negative line from the battery to the start...

    Electrical problem - Please help!!

Ooh, this sounds pretty bad. I did a visual check of the fuses, but didn't find any that were visibly blown. I'll have to try to get a multimeter and check them. Not sure how to check the relays though and I doubt I'll get that starter out as I couldn't get it loose after trying for a few hours...

    Electrical problem - Please help!!

Hoping someone can help me figure this out as I am not too familiar with how to diagnose and fix something like this. The situation: This winter I had an intermittent no start issue with my 05 SR5, which occurred only on a few extremely cold mornings. A check of the battery and alternator...

    Starting Problems - any ideas?

ok, I did this. I guess will see if it starts tomorrow. Also, after thinking about this a little, I am not sure how the Autozone tester tests the starter. I mean, the car starts fine throughout the day, so I don't know if the starter would test "bad", unless the testing was done when its not...

    Starting Problems - any ideas?

Hey, I am hoping someone can help me figure out whats going on with my 2005 v6 SR5. I've owned my 4Runner for about 7 years and it currently has 198k miles. The starter and alternator are original as far as I know. I replaced the OEM battery a year ago (it lasted 12 years!) with a Bosch blue...
