I Called Toyota Corporate Today The Tech said that all 4Runners come with backlit buttons....so the test-drive vehicle (2013) that I drove at the Dealership had a bad bulb or blown fuse (or broken wire - I guess!).... Best Regards

Thanks - DGO! I had tried turning up the dimmer to full intensity - as witnessed by the brighter lights on the round speedometer gauge but there was still no lighting on the stack buttons...the salesman didn't know whether there was supposed to be lighting on the buttons...I think I am going to...
