Hi Mike,
Sorry for not replying sooner. Starting up a new business is a real time-consumer.
That combo worked as good as I could have hoped. There's not much clearance, but no trimming of well liner at all, and no rubbing through the full range of steering and the fair bit of vertical...
Very thorough answer - that helps a lot. I've ordered the rings just in case the caps don't work that way or I decide not to use them. The new tires are 265/70 so theyre not very wide (still about an inch wider than the stock 20"). Fingers crossed for no rubbing. I'll get a good look at them on...
Thanks. That was my gut feeling, despite the Canadian Tire guy telling me that I didn't need them. I'll order those rings and should be rolling vibration free, assuming I can avoid any rubbing on the wheel wells!
Any idea if the 5.1" back spacing will be okay?
Howdy! I know there are other threads similar to this, but I can't seem to find a definitive answer re: new aftermarket alloys on stock 5th gens (Ltd in my case).
I bought Ion Alloy 179B's (17x8 +14 offset, 5.1" backspacing) for my winter rubber (265/70R17 X-ice2's) based on Canadian Tire's...
Snow&Surf,
Awesome rig! Great choices on the mods, definitely one of the coolest 5th gen Ltd's I've seen. I'd like to take my '11 Ltd in the same direction in a year or so when I get tired of (near) stock.
I went with Lightwerkz for my HID conversion (bixenon FXRs+5000K+Densos+fogs) as well...
Hi FLHRCI:hatsoff:,
Hope its okay to revive this thread. Was wondering if those winter MB rims you bought were working out for you, with no rubbing on the fenders, UAC, etc.
I ask because I am trying to give my stock height 2011 Ltd some decent 17" alloys with winter x-ice2's (265/70-R17)...
Hi - new member here, new 5th gen owner, and first post!
Please add me to the list. I have a Canadian 2011 4Runner Limited, and please add reverse and plate lights.
Those pics look fantastic. These LED's will fix the only lame thing about my silver beastie... :biggrin2:
