Are you sure that as soon as the camera gets power, it "takes over" the display? I may not want to do a front camera. Sounds like a pain in the ass. It doesn't sound hard to wire, but I don't want another switch for a camera I will seldom use.

My stereo does not have a front camera interface. I was planning on using the "AV in" port. The remote wire, (labeled P. remote on this stereo) is the wire that you run to an amp to tell it to turn on (on only when the stereo is on). Blue wire with white stripe-
