    Borfoo3's '15 TEP-KDSS 'no longer' mild build

Just wanted to share that I moved on to a new platform for offroad duty, the next gen (2023) Ford Ranger Raptor. build thread is on the Ranger6g.com forum here if anyone's interested. Will not be as active around here, so please be patient on DMs or responses. Cheers!

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Went down to the dealership and drove off in one of these

Thinking of returning to a 4Runner...

This is true If you already joined the v8 club.. next stop is the LC200 or LX570.. I love my built 2015 4runner, but I've been itching to build our 2020 cruiser.. that 5.7 v8 will be missed

What are the 5th gen weak spots?

5th gen pros: Bigger body dimensions. Beefed up CVs, stronger LCA, front lower shock mounts, knuckles , better CV Boots (inner redesign) for flex and durability improvements. Larger more robust rack and pinion + tie rod ends. Cons.. frame rust and secondary air injection pump failure can still...

King Suspension with KDSS Opinions Only

Ditto this.. In reality, I find that spring rate, compression setting on the shocks, and tire pressure have more effect on general ride "feel" vs the KDSS itself.. Only time I clearly tell KDSS is making a difference in ride "feel" is when I'm turning on a roundabout much faster than I should...

Offroad drivetrain durability as tire size increases

Compared to my 200 LC, the 4Runner has an inherent drivetrain safety feature called: 'lack of power' :D I found that front CV's in high power / snappy torque vehicles with upsized tires seem to be less forgiving with too much skinny pedal.

    Borfoo3's '15 TEP-KDSS 'no longer' mild build

Think of the Icon bump stops as more of your suspension's 'last resort' where you've already chewed up most of your up-travel. In stock-ish suspension setup, that is not hard to do. So you will engage the Icons frequently.. In KINGs (or high-end suspension in general) you reeaally have to be...

    Pros/Cons of Leveling Kits

Pros Looks better Better clearance (front side) Cons Worse handling if alignment/ geometry is too far off or not done properly Rear sag when loaded can throw off front headlights (better align them after lift)

Mods that should be done at the same time as magnuson supercharger install?

The cold weather would help in your case. FYI, it is best to add the Trans aux cooler in-line with (i.e. after) the OEM radiator exchanger as it also has the duty of warming the trans fluid after startup. That's why you would normally find the transmission fluid temp close to or above water...

Mods that should be done at the same time as magnuson supercharger install?

+1 on the transmission cooler for OP Some armor, lift, tires, and basic performance mods on mine (not supercharged) and already see trans temps over 220F easily in the summer.. closer to 240F offroad.. Trans cooler now has it back down to a nice ~180F Also did a transmission fluid change (with...

    New power plant?

Because people out here in the Middle East are already overheating the LC300 3.5TT in the dunes... poor 2.4 wouldn't stand a chance :bounce: There's a reason why the safari tour lc200's in Dubai all run the 6mt 4.0.. lightest trim and that thing can take a beating

    New power plant?

Since the 4.0l 1GR-FE v6 is still alive and well, the classic Toyota way is to slap in an 8-speed to bump up the mpg, throw in a few $$ to to MSRP, and call it all-new..
