    1990 Dash indicator lights intermittent

A while back I noticed I started losing dash indicator lights. First it was the high beam light, discovered after realizing I drove back from a trip blinding ppl the whole time. Then it was my 4wd light was finnicky then gone. Got into the dash with some new LEDs, tested them all and figured out...

Larger capacity tank from a 1992 into 1990

Fuel tank comes with just the tank so I would probably look into this jumping to a 17. Jumping from 14-15 probably didn’t make much difference. Any ideas on why I keep ending up with a leak after ~1 year every time?

Larger capacity tank from a 1992 into 1990

Backstory: been through like three fuel tanks in 5 years on my 1990. It originally had a 14gal that started leaking. First two replacements were 15gal eBay tanks bc that’s the only place I could find the a 15 gal bc I wanted to squeeze out some additional range. Started leaking after a year...

FS: 2nd Gen Coverking Seat Covers - Gray, $100 Richmond, VA.

I've got some Coverking Cordura seat covers with the Molle backs in good condition. I took them out of my 2nd gen because the gray faded to have a bit of a bluish tint. They'll maybe look better on a blue interior (see photo), or if your seats just look like shit. No major stains. One piece of...

2nd Gen DIY 8020 Aluminum Roof Rack

How strong is it? If you put a floor grate on it, do you think you could get up there and walk around?

    brettniles's 1990 Overland Build

Monstaliner Finally the Monstaliner. Things: Work one panel at a time. Get a friend to cut in while you chase them around the truck filling in the panels. Order extra rollers and change to a new one when they get squishy. Especially on the second coat. Take off your door handles. Take your...

    brettniles's 1990 Overland Build

Fiberglass and Sanding Next came fiberglass and sanding. Had to make a backer out of sheet metal for the fiberglass down where those stupid plastic rock guards go, but everywhere else I was able to get it covered with long hair glass then sand. Repeat until you want to kill yourself or truck is...

    brettniles's 1990 Overland Build

Cutting/Grinding and Sealing First thing I did was cut/grind out as much as I could and sealed the edges and everything else that had to stay with Chassis Saver Silver Aluminum. I made the decision to build with fiberglass rather than welding as much as possible because 1. I'm not that good at...

    brettniles's 1990 Overland Build

Body Rust Here's some of the rust spots before I got to work on them. Rest assured, it was in pretty much every common spot for it: both rear wheel arches, especially under that plastic thing, both fenders, one door bottom, the body behind the mud flaps under the rear bumper and inside that...

    brettniles's 1990 Overland Build

I daily drove it for a few years after I got it and it fell into disrepair b/c of some knee surgeries I had to pay for. I kept it alive, but parked it and bought a '97 Accord for $500 to DD instead. Now I'm finally building it for overland adventures. I'm not a mechanic, but my good friend is...

FS: 2nd Gen ('90) Factory Front Bumper & Valence - $100?OBO Virginia Beach, VA

Good condition. No idea if this is a fair price. Honestly, as long as it covers shipping and maybe $20 to deal with boxing it up and such, you can have it.

    brettniles's 1990 Overland Build

I've been lurking around here for about six years, owning a 4runner the whole time but not doing a whole lot with it, but I recently started bringing it back from a state of disrepair and neglect, so I figured it was time for a build thread. This is what it looks like in it's current state, but...

Official Classics Lift and Tire thread

Sup guys. I've been digging around in this thread for a bit trying to make some decisions on the future of my build. It's gonna be for overland stuff. So far I've got BJ spacers and OME shocks and springs that I got on craigslist for $150. We (and by "we" I mean, my qualified mechanic friend)...
