I've always used them to protect the leading edge of the hood from stone chips and the ensuing rust/corrosion. That being said my runner has a weathertech deflector on. The first thing I noticed was the mounting hardware. They supplied plastic grommets and stainless screws which is light years...

These tires are what came stock on my 2017 T4R TRD Off Road, they have less than 150km of use. Bridgestone Dueller H/T 265/70R17 retail for approximately $180 to $190 each ... looking for $600 for all four or best offer. I'm in the Durham Region and will travel within reason.
