Haven't checked in here in a bit. 4R to Tundra to RAM and back to Tundra. Wife is looking to get into a Sienna, trying to reel her back in and get her into a 4Runner again. Anyway, spent the past 6 days on the trails with a MASSIVE group of Tundras out there in AZ and thought I would share...

So I am in a Camry for the next two weeks. Holidays and they did in fact have to order me a new transmission. They think that a clutch pack froze up and blew the tranny apart at 4th gear. Pretty crazy, not many blown Tundra transmissions out there, thankfully it is getting fixed for free :whoo...

So that Trail sold before I got out to the dealer to even check it out. Back to the drawing board. Oh, and as of this afternoon my Tundra is now a three speed, not six. Gears 4-6 no longer exist. Gets picked up tomorrow to go in for likely a tranny replacement. :happens:

I pulled a lifted Coleman tent trailer through all kinds of stuff when I had the 4R. I will likely go that route again, but I will check out the trailers you are talking about.

Welcome to the dark side! You will likely not regret the decision. There are some things I miss about the 4R, but all in all I love the Tundra enough to make it worth it. On 35" Trail Grapplers, 4.5 inches of ARB lift under it, and a Transferflow 46 gallon fuel tank I am averaging about 13...

Mud flaps? Who needs that?!?! In all reality, you're gonna tear em off the first time you actually go wheeling. I never ran mudflaps for that reason. Most states do not require SUV's to have mudflaps, just trucks, so enjoy it :smashputer:
