You may want to check in to a product by USA Spec: PA-15-TOY. It may provide what you are looking for but I am not completely sure on the compatability since the T1814/T1815 was originally meant to have a USB/iPod connection.

Sorry, I should clarify, I meant outdoor temps. The average has been well over 90, so driving around with no AC has been short lived most days. You gotta love a town where the weatherman says outdoor temperature is 92, but feels like 98... seriously, what the hell?

I had the same thought about the AC. Unfortunately, the temperatures around here are limiting my ability to fully test that thought. My other thought was the spark plugs may be going bad.

Update Quick and to the point, the AUX connection does not work on the T1814 Pioneer unit. So I will be looking for an aftermarket fix for my iPod as the FM transmitter sounds like crap and I will only be able to handle this so long... On a bright note, the T1814 sounds great and looks good...

I caught this too. Looks as promising as anything anyone has found so far. Not the cheapest fix, but I will pay for functional at this point.

I am going to install my HU and see if the AUX will work as well. Hopefully it does as I search for other options. I have been looking into the Toyota parts above, I still want a way to use the USB. This has turned into one hell of a process...

So your AUX button still worked without any modification? Interesting. At least you still have the ability to play your iPod (I assume). Let us know what Grom says. I admit that I was worried it wouldn't work and selfishly waited to see what happened with yours. Sorry you had issues.

Alright, we may have a fix for the iPod connectivity issue with the Pioneer and Alpine HUs. I contacted Grom (thanks trey99ek), and they say this adaptor will work: Toyota / Scion / Lexus GROM USB/iPod car interface adapter It is listed at $124.99. It connects through the "external CD port"...

If I remember correctly, there are two parts on the current xB that allow the iPod to work: That factory adaptor (86190-53040) and another piece that connects to the USB/iPod plug. I have seen people take that adaptor and splice it with a standard iPod cord. If the other part is infact the USB...

This is great information. Thanks falcon115. I am a newbie with the car electronics, but I like this fix. While this is definitely over my abilities, I may still try. Unless something quicker and easier pops up soon.

I have made no progess on this and would like to know the same. I am still amazed no one has produced a simple plug and play for these headunits.
