Changing Differential & Transfer Case Fluids - Pics Included

Super simple and helpful post - thank you! I just did rear diff, TC, and front diff, in that order. It was easy and took about 2 hours in total. Only a couple of thoughts to add about my experience: Sprayed every bolt with PB Blaster the day before, and had no problems getting them loose with...

    Parking Brake/ABS/TRAC Dash Lights On

Hey all, having a heck of a week with my 07 Runner. Have been having A/C issues. One refrigerant fill up at the mechanic gave me cold air for a month. The most recent fill up of refrigerant only lasted 4 days. The mechanic had green dye added, and could not find any leaks. So it looks like...

AC Leak - 06 sport - seeking opinions

Old thread here, but thought I'd chime in. I have an 07 Sport with 120,000 miles. Started blowing warm air last summer and got the system vacuumed and recharged. This summer, blowing hot air again. Vacuumed and recharged again. Blew cold air for a month, and hot again. This time, just added...

Write-up: How to Disable (Bypass) the TPMS

Easy! Finally remembered to do this on my 07 Sport. Only took 5 minutes. I chose to use a small paperclip to jump the 2 wires in case I/future owner ever want to reverse it. - Did not need to disconnect the battery - Unplugged yellow-taped harness (no need to cut the tape) - Located pink/black...

Write-up: How to Disable (Bypass) the TPMS

Jumper wire vs. splice connector Just got new tires at Costco. Didn't want to pay for new TPMS sensors, so they took them out and replaced with standard stems. I'm ready to do this. My light is not blinking, but solid. It's not THAT annoying (I'm sure a blinking light is AWFUL), but going to...

What did everyone pay for their 4th gen?

Just left 3rd gen for a 4th gen! Just this weekend, I found a 2007 Sport V6 with 107,000 miles for $9500, paid $9200. Super steal. Tires were shot, so that was $750 more I had to spend this morning. In turn, sold my 98 Limited with 118,000 for $8,000 (I paid $6700 for it 5 years ago). Nearly...

Keyless entry & power features malfunctioning

Last month, my power locks, windows, and seat all went out. After reading some threads here, I replaced the pink fuse in the driver side fuse panel, and all was well - for 2 weeks. It all just died again. I guess now I need to search all the wiring in each door for a short somewhere? Perhaps...

Is there a need for cup holders on the 96-98?

Definitely interested in tan once these are ready to go! Are tan and gray the 2 colors planned for now? Thanks for all your time and work on this!

FS 3rd gen Westin chrome nerf bars $125 NH

I know this is a really old post - did you ever sell these? I'm in Hampton Beach for 2 weeks.

Why not OME 880/906? Talk me out of it.

I've only had the set-up for 2 weeks, so I can't say much for what repercussions may come down the road. But regarding a stiffer ride, I wouldn't call it stiff (in any negative sense) at all. In my opinion, it feels perfect. Not soft, not jarring, but right where it needs to be.

Why not OME 880/906? Talk me out of it.

I gained 2" all around. To an educated eye, you can definitely tell it's lifted. To the general public, I doubt they'd notice, and that's with stock size tires.

Why not OME 880/906? Talk me out of it.

Don't quite understand your question...If you meant what lift did I use, I used TRD Tundra coils in the front, OME 906 in the rear, Bilstein 5100s all around.

Why not OME 880/906? Talk me out of it.

The dealer is McGeorge Toyota, but the parts must be ordered from their wholesale parts website. They charge $9 for local pick-up (lame) plus tax. If you walk in and try to order, you'll pay retail. I think I paid right around $125 per coil. Not bad for brand new. I searched car-part.com and...

Lower Ball Joint Removal and Installation

Thanks! This thread was really helpful for me. I just installed new OEM lbj's today - the first front end job that I've taken on myself (did my lift with a friend). It was a good first job to take on! I used this front end service kit from Advance Auto. I'm not sure which puller it's called...

Why not OME 880/906? Talk me out of it.

Installed! Yes! I installed last weekend. It was a bit of a process, but I'm not an expert wrencher. Quick takeaways: spring compressors were a terrible idea. My buddy and I could not get the spring compressed enough to use the old top hats. After sweating over those for 2 hours, we took them...
