Seems like all three of our vehicles "use" a very small amount of coolant. Not enough to be concerned about but enough so that it might need to be topped off once a year. Maybe it's from evaporation?

I always add 7 qts. Never had an issue.

If you can't find anything disconnected or connected wrong you should try putting the old spark plugs back in.

True dat about the fluid. But be careful modifying with external coolers or filters. I once installed an external cooler on a 3rd gen that ended up ruining the AC condenser. Sometimes it's better to trust the engineers knew what they were doing.
