My son replaced the shifter bushings on his 1998 manual. When he reassembled it, it won't go into First or Third. I'm at a loss - any ideas?

Moog Springs? Have you checked out the talk on Moog Rear Springs? Do a search and have a look. I've got a '94 with the same problem, and I'm thinking of the Moog Springs - 255s, I think.
