Alignement at 3500 miles?? Road hazard warranty on new tires??? Help

i got the same story from a firestone dealer when i had my destinations put on. never seemed to have any issues, and the 4runner definitely doesn't "pull" one way or the other. like you, i'll wait to get it aligned at my 5k mile service.

    Post your Trail Edition here:

here is a photo of mine stock: and another with recent add-ons, including tint, shrockworks sliders and destination ATs (though they're a bit hard to see because of the angle and shadows):

    Tire Alignment Question

Just got a set of Destination A/Ts put on my 4runner (they're pretty sweet - very "nimble"), and while at the Firestone the tech told me the tires were out of alignment. I've only had the 4runner for about 3 months, and am a bit skeptical - maybe they were just trying to upsell me on an...

    Please help identifying this switch

is it a light switch? i.e., when it's set to "on" [doors open], the overhead light turns on when the doors are open?

    My New TE Came Early!

i was a little surprised when people started complimenting my TE. one compliment stood out - a tech at the shop where i had my tint done told me that it was a really really nice truck. there was a brand new maserati gran turismo right next to it. i thanked him, but told him he couldn't...

To those in Arizona... need recommendation on place to live.

Within a half hour or less during rush hour and NE of downtown? Try the Biltmore area, Arcadia, Scottsdale, or Paradise Valley. Carefree and Cave Creek are nice, as the other poster mentioned, but a long way from downtown PHX. There are also some nice neighborhoods downtown and uptown.

Help! Slider install at a standstill

Yep - the nut was welded to a large square piece of metal that didn't fit through all of the frame holes. Got it all finished but jimmying those sticky nuts through the holes in the frame was a royal pain. Also declined to drill into the frame for the front passenger side. But, they're on!

Please Help Me Buy a TE

if you're a member of USAA you can use the Zag car broker service at no charge. this is how we found our TE. we got one with KDSS (and a few superfluous options) for 35,600. inventory searches using edmonds were usually a bust - the site would list a TE in stock but when I'd call or visit they...

    best all around tire....

i'd be interested in hearing this answer too. also wondering where you guys are offloading your old tires? i have the stock 265/70/17r dunlop at20 grandtreks. if i knew for sure i could get a fair trade or a few bucks for them i'd pull the trigger on new all terrain tires in a second.

    Shrockworks installed

great - so the installation of the shrockworks sliders makes THAT much of a difference in steering and handling? Not discounting anything the previous posters have said, but any other TE owners with KDSS care to chime in?

Question about 2 yrs free maintenance program

yeah, i got the toyota care brochure with the key fobs too. if you read carefully though, it looks like you DON'T get a free oil change at 5,000 miles. the brochure states that you get certain services every 5,000 miles, but "replace engine oil and oil filter" is only at 10,000 mile intervals...

    Magnetic Grey Metallic Touch-Up Paint?

update #1 everyone: thanks for the helpful tips. i went at the scratches with a bottle of maguiar's scratch x this weekend. it removed most of the scratch on the left, except for the extreme top and bottom, which are the deepest parts of the scratch. didn't do anything for the scratch on the...
