Common experience with the cv's i think especially after a lift. I bought mine and the guy had just put some cheap rough country lift on it, about a week after i got it home the cv's were throwing grease everywhere. Diff drop's seem to be a contentious subject, I just installed the trakmotive...
haha ugh yeah man i think i came across that post when i was digging. i picked up some hard lines from o’reily with what appears to be the correct fitting and i’m gonna try to bend them tomorrow but if that doesn’t work out i think i’m gonna throw in the towel and go back to oem as well. nice to...
Ah, now that is interesting. So does that mean any stainless steel lines I would have bought wouldn't fit even the 4runner one's? Guess maybe the rubber hose has a different fitting too i just assumed it was factory.
I stripped the fitting on the hard line that's in there trying to horse it...
no you’re…correct unfortunately. haha definitely have a headache and a lighter wallet but my thought was it would be easier to delete the hardline instead of fiddling with buying a new one from o reily and renting the bender and dealing with flaring and all that. this of course before i realized...
Ordered stainless steel tacoma lines in order to delete the hard line that goes into the caliper. Seen it recommended in various places on the forum. Go to thread the line in and it doesn't seem to have much thread engagement before it bottoms out, definitely doesn't look right, but it doesn't...
All good! Appreciate the reply, yeah the one side looks something like this and while it isn't leaking, I haven't bled the breaks and it seems like not enough threads, but it's tight tight.
Hello friends, not able to make a post yet because I haven't hit my reply number yet? So here goes,
I ordered tacoma front brake lines seeing that other people have had success deleting the hard line that goes out of the caliper. Banjo bolt on one end, and then bolts into the next hard line...
Hey I know this is a super old thread but I'm trying to install these same tacoma lines and it doesn't seem to want to thread onto the brake fitting, curious if your hard line looking something like this? The problem seems to be with the unthreaded portion.
Hey I saw you were wrestling with some fittings, I've purchased the tacoma lines in order to delete the hard line out of the caliper but it doesn't seem to want to thread onto the next hard line. Curious if your fittings looked like this with the unthreaded portion at the tip? I'm puzzled...
Glad you ended up with everything in clearance. Curious how many miles are on your 3.4?
been looking at this job as well and seems like the real pain in the neck is getting the shims out with the cam in. I’m not afraid to pull the exhaust cam and it looks way easier than messing with prying...
