I'm also looking for part number for this socket. 2006 4R Sport with DRL. Takes the 1156 bulbs. Broken bulb while removing and couldn't get the broken socket out of the assembly.
I got my window replaced in October 2010 after it shattered. Called the dealership and they said they hadn't heard of it happening and it must have been a foreign object and wasn't covered.
Well I got this letter yesterday, and I found my receipt from Safelite in the glove box, but it's so...
So I'm the OP in this thread. Just got a warranty enhancement letter in mail today explaining that there's now warranty coverage for this defect. I haven't turned on my rear defroster at all since that day it busted in 2010. Got the rear window replaced by Safelite I believe, but who knows if...
I'm in New Orleans, no snow here. It was probably 50-60 degrees on the morning it happened to me. I got my rear window replaced in 2010, and I've been scared to hit the rear defrost button since. Not once have I tried it since. :moping:
This is exactly what happened. So you think since my whole defrost grid is new, I should be ok to turn it on when I need to? I'm afraid of that button now. I mostly use that button for the heated side mirrors. Never expected my rear glass to spontaneously combust.
So I got the glass repaired by Safelite. The guys told me they don't think the defroster was the problem and insist it was an impact that broke the glass. They said they didnt notice any damage to the plugs that connect to the glass.
I'm afraid to ever use my rear defrost again though. :(
I was in the truck for about 2 minutes. I was stopped at a red light. I had the rear defrost on. Windshield just shattered.
Has this happened to anyone else? Should I bring it in to the dealer or just a glass repair place like Safelite?
Any chance the rear defroster was the culprit and...
yikes....I wish I would have seen this thread a week ago.
I just replaced my Dunlops with Tripletreds so I could be better prepared to drive my 2WD in Denver. Got to Denver three days ago on Wednesday, having been tested with any snow yet.
I don't plan on going to the mountains, just want...
alright, I made it to Denver in my 4runner. That was a crappy drive, Oklahoma and Kansas were miserable.
I'm liking my tripletreds so far. No real snow to test it yet, but they felt good in the rain.
Questions:
If I bought some of that Prestone Deicer windshield fluid (yellow stuff)...
I decided to put the Goodyear Tripletreds on my truck. Cost me $700 installed, not too bad, as they should be a better tire in all conditions.
I kept the Dunlops, as they can be a spare set for me or my sister who has a GX470.
I'll probably take that road trip tomorrow, after I enjoy...
