The estimates are coming in really high for my blown head gasket... they say while in there, cause of going in deep, some other work should be done as well... I lack knowledge with cars. Eg: timing belt, last done at 119. current mileage is 180. coolant system redone... looks like crap they...

I was just told my 96 toyota 4 runner needs a head gasket repair. They did a type of water test in a tube, and the liquid went from blue to green, indicating that is the problem (a blown head gasket). I got an estimate of $2500-3000 to fix. Is this the right test, and result? And what is...
