*****SOLD***** Up for sale are a set of 4, 1.25 inch Spidertrax wheel spacers. I purchased them new, and were on my 5th gen 4Runner for about six months. I painted the edge silver so they'd be less noticeable when installed. $160 shipped (contiguous US).

According to the parts guy it's unfinished black plastic. As far as texture, I'd assume since the factory made it with the intent to paint it, it would have a smooth finish and should be ready for paint but I don't know for sure.

I think the Shrockworks trim option is considerably cheaper but I wanted factory fit and finish. Also, from the pictures I've seen the Shrockworks trim doesn't appear to protect the bottom of the doors/weatherstrip like the factory trim does.

There's nothing new about the 2014 rocker cover, it's the same part number as the 2010-13 trails. The place where I ordered the front flare extension/mud flap from wouldn't ship the rocker covers so I ordered them from a local dealer, luckily the local dealer price matched my online source...

They probably wanted to make it ugly so you'd want to fix the tire ASAP. I'd bet the spare doesn't have a TPMS sensor (to save a couple dollars) and for liabilty reasons dedicate the non TPMS monitored spare as a spare tire only. I doubt it costs Toyota much less if any to paint the wheel...
