Replaced CV's, Now have steering knuckle seal issues

Part number I just ordered (from my local dealer's parts counter) an inside steering knuckle seal for my 05 SR5 4Runner (same part number for an 04, which I also have): 90316-A0001 (replaces 90316-7). $49 I haven't installed it yet, but wanted to pass along this information. A suggestion...

    Rear Bumper Removal

I recently R&R'd my '04's rear bumper to access rust areas. I found that detaching the bumper sides from the body, where it is attached to a bracket with three pin-type clips, far more difficult to do than others have described. I, too, was fearful of breaking one or more clips off. But with...

    Replace 1GR-FE valve stem seals

Have you done it? Wisdom and tips to share? I can't find much at all online for this engine. Just looking for how-to insights, not diagnoses. A thousand thanks!

    Oil control valve filters

Have you ever removed, cleaned or replaced the 1GR-FE's two oil control valve filters? I'm anticipating doing so on my 04 & 05 T4Rs and would welcome insights. It seems an important maintenance item.

VSC lights lit on after I've used scan tool. how to reset these ?

I own both 04 & 05 SR5 4Runners (... and a 22RE '90 SR5 I bought new in 89). I've used several scan tools on my 04, and they tripped the VSC lights every time, requiring zero-point calibration. Easy, just annoying. This never occurs with my 05. The issue is in the pre-05 system's DNA ... For...

    Parking Brake Repair Procedure Question

Zip ties worked I found a thread somewhere in which the author illustrated the simple technique of compressing each retainer spring and cup assembly together using two of the smallest zip ties on each spring -- one on each side of each spring to even it out. It worked! Once it was all...

3rd gen T4R cargo tonneau cover; unused; tan; $100; Idaho Falls, ID

Still available. Private message sent. Just FYI ... UPS shipping quotes from Idaho (item's location) to Kentucky and Virginia have been bit less than $50. So depending on buyer's location in the Lower 48, item's cost could be approximately $150, more or less. I doubt an original-equipment...

    Parking Brake idiot light

With my '90 (22re w/279,600 miles), I hadn't filled the reservoir to the "max" line after recently drawing out the old fluid and replacing with new. So the brake light was on, indicating the fluid level was low. I added fluid to the "max" line and the light is now off.

3rd gen T4R cargo tonneau cover; unused; tan; $100; Idaho Falls, ID

Thank you! As noted, it came with the 4Runner, purchased new, and has been sitting in our basement unused and forgotten.

3rd gen T4R cargo tonneau cover; unused; tan; $100; Idaho Falls, ID

I'd be happy to ship it to Spokane from my locale, Idaho Falls, ID. But as the ad states, buyer pays shipping, which is not inexpensive. Today I got a quote to ship it via UPS to Kentucky: $47.80. Please PM me if you're interested.

3rd gen T4R cargo tonneau cover; unused; tan; $100; Idaho Falls, ID

ITEM IS SOLD. This tan, retractable OEM Toyota tonneau cover came with a white 1999 4Runner we purchased new. The cover was put away soon after purchase and never used. The truck is long gone, but this was forgotten and has been in indoor storage. It is as close to new condition as anything...

Front End Clunk / Sway Bar Bushings

2004 stabilizer bar bushings replaced Mine (140k-plus on the odo) had bad clunking in front that not one of five shops, dealer included, could diagnose. I decided that at $15.24 x 2 (OEM Toyota part 48815-60190, bought online from a dealer), replacing the bushings was a chance worth taking. It...

    17mm rear stabilizer-bar bushings for early '90 ... FOUND!

After an extensive online search for the hard-to-find 17mm OEM rear stabilizer-bar bushing for a 1990 model-year 4Runner (build date 07/89) ... I finally found one at Larry H. Miller Toyota/Scion in Murray, Utah. They sell parts online. The part number is: 48815-20021. Apparently, sometime...

WTB: 17mm rear stabilizer bar bushings

I need to replace one 17mm original rear stabilizer-bar bushing on my purchased-new 1990 SR5 (22R-e; 4wd). Build date is 7/89. I've probably exhausted online sources. OEM parts suppliers keep sending me larger sizes (21 & 24mm). I'd prefer a new part, given the age of used parts now; but it...
