yes i have auto locking hubs just swith gear into 4wd and go. it sounds to be a bearing sound but i just pulled rotor and regreased all (4) wheel bearings. The best way i can discribe the sound is; take a wheel bearing and hit it with air from your air compressor and make the bearing spin and...

does anyone else have any other ideas? it sounds like a bearing noise but both rotor bearing are in good conditon no hot spots etc. and i cleaned and repacked both front rotor bearings and still same noise ???

brakes are newer and thick about 85% or more brake pad up front and all c/v joints look to be in good working order i dont think thats it. any other ideas???

that could be it but it sounds like it comming further out near the wheels but i could be wrong i havent had anyone daring enough to sit under the truck while i drive 50mph haha :roadkill:

so i just got a 94 4runner IFS 4x4 and from about 25-50 mph it is making a chattering / grinding noise from both front wheels . I serviced front and rear diffs with a synthetic blend gear oil, and also cleaned and repacked both front wheel bearing and seals is there anything else i should check?

make sure you replace the oil soakes rear brake shoes because the become defective once any forin oil/greas get on them even if you just did rear brake pads your gonna have to replace them again. my dad and brother owne a brake shop
