V8 Exhaust Sound and Video Clip Compilation Thread

Any muffler that has sound deadening material in it will get louder as time/miles pass (magnaflow is a good example). Flowmaster is nothing but metal inside. It will be a more consistent sound over the long haul.

    06-09 LED Tail Light 188$ a pair?

Sorry to hear about that. Truthfully, your story is nothing new to me (in terms of non-OE parts). I am still on the look out for used OEM ones.

Super sweet price on that amp. My local shop sells it for $169

    V8 MPG curves

My 05 V8 says 365 mile range (roughly) when I fill it up. I get about 16-19mpg (19mpg is 95% highway) keeping it below 70mph. The post that says 75-85mph is the sweet spot....ridiculous. I would say its around 40-45mph in 5th gear. which would get you 23+mpg....but that is too slow for highway...

    Exhaust V8

To be honest, the 50 SUV I have does have some resonance at highway speeds. But, like I stated in my thread, (at highways speeds) the wind noise in a 4Runner is more prevalent (in comparison to my muffler noise). And, in comparison to the stock sawdust muffler, any free flow muffler will have...

    Exhaust V8

I am playing devil's advocate. (b/c I have a 50 SUV Flowmaster) I do not like Magnaflow. I have seen a 5-6 yaer old one so rusted out before (in California) and the packing (fiberglass?) they use inside the muffler (to deaden the 'drone') fades out in time (from my online education) and becomes...

    stereo upgrade upgrade

I agree. I have a 920BT and its nice. But they are pricey. I paid $900 a few months ago EDIT: I see you don't need navigation. The Pioneer double din DVD/iPod/etc I was looking at when I was still deciding can be found for $400-600 They have front USB plug decks and rear USB plug decks. I chose...

V8 Exhaust Sound and Video Clip Compilation Thread

    2005 4Runner 4.7 V8 with a 2.5" 50-Series SUV Flowmaster muffler turned out with a double walled tip. Relatively quite unless you step on it. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="510" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/pomEUjbsDA8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Why do so many exhaust manufacturers say ONLY v6 or ONLY early years?

This would be nice but I feel it is not realistic. Anyone would be hard pressed to find a exhaust sytem that "claims" it is tuned for a specific motor. Mufflers, in general, are universal (in terms of purpose). The biggest factor is inlet/outlet size of the muffler (and actual piping size)...

    05 4.7 V8 with 50-Series SUV Flowmaster Video

They do sound quite different. If I had the V6, I would have just done the side dump. Some like the stock out the back exhuast but I hated it. Looks like some motorized adult toy....lmao. I will post a before and after pic so you guys can see mine. I had no chrome tip and it looked like two...

    05 4.7 V8 with 50-Series SUV Flowmaster Video

You can get the side dump cheap. I would think less than $60 with a tip.

    05 4.7 V8 with 50-Series SUV Flowmaster Video

I'm glad I am able to help some of you guys hear a 50 SUV for the first time. I am happy with it for sure. Drone isn't that bad. Its there in comparison to the whisper quite stock saw dust filled muffler lol But I have no complaints. I am use to louder exhaust so I may not be a good enough...

    05 4.7 V8 with 50-Series SUV Flowmaster Video

Hard to say just yet. Need to go through a whole tank and drive similar to my baseline (17-18mpg on a tank wth mix driving).....Add the fact I probably push the throttle down a little more now....lol

    05 4.7 V8 with 50-Series SUV Flowmaster Video

Well that Mustang sounds loud as hell! No cats....40-series....whoa! There was a performance gain for sure. I have a K&N filter replacement in there too and both bumped things up nicely.....figure less than $300 for both and I got 8-15hp at the crank (yes I know its a huge window but I'm...
