I'm interested in having someone black out my headlights. I'd buy a pair off ebay and ship them to whom ever is experienced in doing it.
If someone could let me know what they'd charge, that would be great!
The Toyota tech told me he had worked at toyota for 10 years and had never heard of a 4Runner clunk.
Right.
They replaced the faulty Toyota drive shaft with the one I picked up from Lexus as outlined in their TSB.
The drive shaft and the install was on my dime.

Have a white 08' and wanted to get rid of the chrome headlights. I think black would look way better.
Any after market companies doing this mod or any members selling black headlights?
I've seen the oven bake threads, but not sure I want to play with silicone in my oven.

I can confirm a drive shaft replacement fixes the clunk. Thanks to all who contributed to this thread, saving me time and hassle.
Toyota was no help.
They even told me that part # 37110-60A40 recommended in the TSB L-SB-0116-08 covering the Lexus GX 470 clunk would not fit a 4Runner.
