I have really been thinking about doing the same thing. Mine has 140,000 miles on it, so I’m wondering if it will be worthwhile to pay the $$ for new wheels. But it’s paid off, so I’m seriously considering it.
I’ve been using them lately. Make sure you twist the wires together in-line before melting the solder. They seem to make good strong, waterproof connections. I use a heat gun for them.

I plasti-dipped some of the front and rear chrome. I took my time and did a better job than the first time I tried it. [emoji16]
I think I’m going to do the rest of the chrome body trim now. [emoji106]

That was actually my original plan. But then I started thinking that if the Plasti-Dip gets a rock chip and starts peeling, I can re-spray it. If the Vinyl wrap starts to peel or gets cut in any way, I would need to get it redone.

I used Plasti-Dip to black it all out a few years ago. I removed it all when the Plasti-Dip started to peel on the edges and from rock chips. I was thinking that if I remove the pieces when I re-apply this time, I may have a better finish.

Has anyone removed the chrome trim from the front of a Limited? I. Wondering if it’s just a snap-in piece or if it’s held in place with screws. Does anyone have directions for removing it?

I live in Michigan so the full time 4WD is great. I have no idea how often my front wheels come into play while driving in the snow or when I go off the paved roads. But I know the vehicle is stable and confident in those conditions.
