    Ya I got at least 4-5 months before she needs to be running. I got tons of time to rebuild the whole engine.

    Found out its two rods which were causing the knock. So should I just order a master rebuild kit for the block along with new rods and bearings? Should I also have the crank inspected and machined if necessary? I'm definitely having the timing belt/chain and guides, etc. and the whole head...

    Well, what I think happened is that the timing skipped and then it bashed a few valves and damaged something causing the oil pump to get seized with metal shavings and then it may have over heated and caused the knock :P

    Yeah, I'll just be getting a cherry picker and take her out of there. Was hoping this would be a simple head job :/ Ah well. Do rods and bearings usually go on 22re's? I've always heard these are super reliable engines. It was quite odd to me that the bottom end would go first.
