First off, glad your OK If you do not want 4WD, then there is no reason IMO to get any type of SUV. If you want better gas mileage, get a car. If you need more room, get a minivan. Getting a 2WD SUV over a Minivan because you think Minivan are nerdy and SUV's are cool is just plain stupid IMO

So? "4HI" is what all the V8 guys drive around in everyday. I agree that transfer oil changes should be done and you should change into/out of different modes to keep the solenoids from locking up but never being able to change back into 2WD mode wouldn't be that big of a deal IMO. Bullshit...

I didn't down play anything. I simply related my exact experience. My Chevy is a '99 (00-02 style) that I've had since it was 1 year old. I did have to replace the driver side regulator 3-4 years ago. When it went, it was the cable. The passenger side still has the original factory installed unit.
