Nope. Tick does not go away. Thay all do it. I actually read about before I bought one and I'm glad I did. Like others have said, only really noticeable at idle, especially with the driver's window down. Had I not known this was normal it would have been a concern.

Cant find it now, but it wont apply to your V8 anyway I dont think. Apparently, the bearing in the serpentine belt tensioner will eventually seize, and the part is like $10 and easy to replace. Best to do it before it seizes up. Maybe it DOES apply to your V8 but since the one I ended up buying...

Yeah, it's nice that it's so quiet but it will take some getting used to. Never had another vehicle like that.

Just took it out to work the t-case. Still feels really weird to me that 4 hi is silent! But it definitely works, and it was absolutely in 4 lo. I know I know, probably just being paranoid.
