Yeah mine sagged to the left for a long time. The dealer wouldn't fix it cuz they said within 5/8 is manufacturer's specs. Then all the rugged driving through the baja deserts at 65mph sure evened things out. I think it's ok now.

I got a 1/8" foam sheet used for arts/crafts, then I cut it to the size of the license plate and gave it a good spray of 3m adhesive. So now I have full coverage on the backside of the plate.

Oh, no. Only use the hi-low converter if you have a separate amp back there. If you're just adding a couple speakers (mids--not subs), then just tap and you'll be fine. Haha I got over the boom boom thing too. I took out my system today. I'd rather have the cargo space. 3 subs and an amp...

I think you can tap the rears. I tapped mine back in 2002 and it's been working/sounding fine since. Make sure you run it through a hi-low converter that brings the power up to amp level input and outputs as RCA. Unless your amp has one built in.

Thanks man. The install of my head unit is now complete. But you mixed up the +/- on the black/yellow wires!!! I KNEW I shoulda stuck to my instincts. I had to take everything apart again to switch the wires once i realized my left rear speaker wasn't working LOL. Thanks again.

Um, so Toyota is supposed to maximize horsepower and performance on an SUV? Obviously they're going to choose ride quality/all around comfort over horsepower... I dont think Toyota developed the 4runner to squeeze every possible bit of power out of it for us. BACK TO THE TOPIC...I didn't know...

Keep in mind we used the lights from a black 4runner. So unless you're going to be using carbon fiber eyelids or black eyelids, the end result will look different.

secondary filter Heh heh.... yeah about that... You have to pry an edge out with a screwdriver, then once you can grab a hold of a side, just rip it out. there's like 6 tabs holding it in--you have to just break em free.

Yeah they're some garage operation in Irvine, CA with 2 guys. $140 for both skidplates cuz they had never done 4 gens before. I dont have any pictures of pre-install because I wasn't there when they did it. I'll take some closeup pics so you guys can see the steel tubing on the inside.
