    Considering selling the Runner.

I agree with most everyone on here, let me just say this... I totally agree with the consensus here. I had a good chuckle over the "Lenny" & "I wish I still had that" comments. That last one is so true. Let me just say this, as it might help in your decision. Just yesterday, I was looking at...

New Scanguage shows I have way more gas left than I ever thought, yahoo...

I purchased a Scanguage about 3 weeks ago & dudes & dudettes, I gotta say I love it. It's on a 99 Limited and it's really shown me how to drive & more impressively has shown that I have way more gas left than I ever thought when factory gauge reads empty. First I want to say that I'm Canadian &...

    Anthracite Metallic paint 1A1

Yup, check your local auto parts store. There should be a paint code on the info plate. I did this with a 10 year old RAV4 & matched it perfect. They also give the option of a rattle-can. Cheers,

    Question about tailgate control module

Something to check out? I agree it doesn't sound like a starter or starting system related, because you can jump it fine. I would suspect a parasitic battery drain? And because you slammed your tailgate pretty good, it may be the rear window motor. Mine doesn't need ignition to open/close. I'm...

Any Danger to ECU keeping Scanguage plugged in permenantly?

Thanks GVL, that's what I'm thinking as well. The MPG readout's, for me anyway, are probably the least of what I want to monitor. I track mileage on fuelly.com currently & averaging 19.7 MPG. So not going to concern myself with resetting the gauge upon filling up. My thought is Tranny Temp...

Any Danger to ECU keeping Scanguage plugged in permenantly?

Thanks THat, I appreciate it... I bleed orange & blue... so I know how you feel. When it comes down to it though, I just like watching great hockey. + of course watching "the sisters" & the rest of the Canucks get beat...

Any Danger to ECU keeping Scanguage plugged in permenantly?

Thanks THat. I concur, my Oilers have been slumping for a while, so I know where you are coming from. Those poor Leaf fans have been patient since 1967? I loved though, how the Jacket's took care of the Canucks late in the season. It didn't matter in the standings, but any team beating the...

Any Danger to ECU keeping Scanguage plugged in permenantly?

Hi, I'm wondering if there is any risk to damaging the ECU with a Scanguage permanently plugged in? Also, is battery drain an issue or does it power off? I'm expecting delivery today. I purchased this mainly to monitor Transmission temps as I've just rebuilt my tranny & new torque convertor. I...

2001 4runner smells like gas in rear driver side wheel well

I have my money on "filler-neck" or where it joins the tank. You don't want to mess around with gas fumes, have a shop check it out...

Getting rebuilt transmission today...how long should I expect it to last?

Thanks so much all, this is reassuring. The cost for the re-build was $2980.00CDN + labour & fluid (synthetic BG universal), so about $1000.00US...haha (kidding). My mechanic, who doesn't do transmissions other than flushing, removing & install, uses Aamco in Vancouver, he says they are awesome...

Getting rebuilt transmission today...how long should I expect it to last?

Howdy all, I am getting my tranny re-built today in a 1999 Limited. Also putting in an aftermarket cooler at the same time, to bypass rad cooler. How long should I expect this tranny to last? I spun a bearing sleeve on the torque converter & it welded itself to the TC. I know it depends on how...

I might have a transmission issue? Advise please?

Well, It turns out that it's a tranny fluid pump. I think it's part of the torque converter? Mechanic says fluid is fine, but recommends sending out tranny to be rebuilt at AAMCO. Estimated cost is 2500.00 - 3500.00 CDN. OUCH.

I might have a transmission issue? Advise please?

Awesome Jerod, thanks so much for your input. I'll call my mechanic right now & make an appointment for tomorrow. Why is it, that just when we're starting to get really ahead & comfortable financially that our vehicles break down? Darn Murphy. Thanks again, Chris.
