Dear Toyota, please fix this in the next production year of the 4Runner

Change the remote start to allow the driver to start the car, and when the door is opened, if the key is present, the engine continues to run. Make it easier to show the current speed limit on the home page of the touch screen display. Allow the voice GPS to search for a town, without having...

Installing dash cams - front and rear?

This thread has some good info on how to mount the cameras. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/249581-rear-facing-dash-camera-ideas-2.html

Installing dash cams - front and rear?

I just ordered a 2 channel dash cam and now I need to figure out how to wire it up. I know some of y'all have them and I'm curious how you got it installed. The biggest challenge I think is how do you get the wiring to the rear camera? Remove the headliner? Run the cable underneath the car...

    Rear facing dash camera ideas?

Great approach. I like this a LOT. Where did you get the plexiglass? and is it just a matter of popping out the clips(?) and putting them back in with the glass in place? No extra parts/adhesives?

    Freeman in Hurst (Dallas/Fort Worth)

I rarely look at this forum, but thought I'd drop a mention for Freeman in Hurst. I bought a 2017 Limited from them last year after shopping at several other Toyota dealerships much much closer to where I live (Lewisville/Grapevine areas). I dealt directly with the sales manager, BJ. I told...

Does anyone get extended warranty ever?

Well said. I apply that same logic to my home warranty (and don't buy one). However, I did get the extended warranty on my 4Runner. I got a Limited 4x4 and the way I saw it, there are so many bells and whistles that present a lot of opportunity for problems.

Paint protection under the license plate

I go to a hardware store and buy a roll of the foam strips used to seal windows and cut off pieces and line the back of the plate. It is self adhesive, holds up well (even in Texas heat), and it's pretty cheap. I use something similar to this...

Toyota Trademarks FT-4X Name - FJ Cruiser Revival? UPDATE: REVEALED

I get that mileage or slightly better in my '05 Runner with a V8. Nice wording with the "beard and hair bun crowd"! You nailed it. I wouldn't bet against you though on this one. I'm doubtful the reveal is anything that will excite those of us on this board. Hopefully we're both wrong.

Toyota Trademarks FT-4X Name - FJ Cruiser Revival? UPDATE: REVEALED

Yep. To be fair though, this is common with other manufacturers also. I can't count the number of times I've seen some concept vehicle from Ford and been super impressed...only to be completely underwhelmed when it actually made it to market.

Request to Toyota for next gen 4runner

Until they unveil the next-gen, I'm fine with ANOTHER thread on this topic...need something to think about. I'd love to see a V8 in the next gen. Give us an option for saddle leather seating, and lose the Softex or whatever it's called. Move the window controls off the top sill of the...

    2018 Sequoia is Refreshed

Now that they have unveiled the Tundra and Sequoia, maybe they can show off a new 4Runner at the autoshow in Dallas next month. Please, please, please!

    Any changes for 2017 model?

When I search for 2017's thru a local dealer's website (Freeman Toyota, they are the biggest dealer in Dallas/Ft Worth...also checked a couple others), they don't show any 2017's available. Which seems strange to me. Maybe they are on the lots where you live, but they don't seem to have made...

    Any changes for 2017 model?

From Toyota in response to an inquiry via their website for when the 2017 and 2018 models would be unveiled. Very unhelpful...

Advice requested: Road trip IN Alaska (Sept 25-30th)

I would take a 4 hour boat ride out of Seward to see the whales/wildlife. I think a longer boat ride is just too much. Drive thru the tunnel to Whittier. Whittier is nothing special IMO, but the tunnel arrangement is pretty unique. Denali would be good, but that would eat up a lot of your...
